Nutrify AI is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our mobile application.

1Introduction

Nutrify AI ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our mobile application.

2Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide:

  • Account information (name, email, age, gender)
  • Health & body metrics (height, weight, goals)
  • Meal logs, food photos, and nutritional data
  • Workout and activity logs, including edited actual durations
  • Self-reported heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood pressure, and blood glucose readings
  • Fasting windows and sobriety streaks
  • Planner sessions, check-ins, habits, and challenges
  • Transformation photos and body measurements
  • Smart Pantry items and shopping lists
  • Community posts, comments, and group activity
  • Coach memories and preferences you choose to save
  • GPS routes you record
  • Preferences and settings
  • Questions, prompts, and messages you submit to the AI Coach

b) Voice & Audio:

  • Microphone recordings when you use Coach voice mode or voice transcription
  • Transcripts generated from your recordings so the Coach can process and respond to your request
  • Recordings and transcripts are processed to provide the feature and may be retained only as needed for the service

c) Sensor & Location Data:

  • Step counts via device pedometer / motion sensors (iOS Motion & Fitness, Android Activity Recognition) while the app is open
  • GPS location while you actively use the GPS Route Tracker or AI Run/Walk Planner — foreground only, never in the background

d) Automatically Collected Information:

  • Device information (model, OS version)
  • Subscription and entitlement status processed via RevenueCat (see Subscriptions section)

e) We do NOT collect:

  • Background location data
  • Contact lists
  • Full payment-card details — purchases are handled by Apple App Store, Google Play, and our subscription processor (RevenueCat), which may receive limited transaction identifiers

f) Permissions Used on Your Device:

  • Camera — for AI meal scanning, product checking, and ingredient photos
  • Microphone — for Coach voice mode and voice transcription
  • Photo Library — to save or upload food and transformation photos
  • Motion & Fitness / Activity Recognition — for foreground step counting
  • Location (While Using the App) — for GPS route tracking and AI Run/Walk Planner, foreground only
  • Notifications — for reminders, habit nudges, and goal alerts

3How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Provide personalised nutrition and fitness insights
  • Track your progress toward health goals
  • Generate meal plans and recommendations via AI
  • Power AI features including food recognition, nutritional analysis, coaching, and voice transcription
  • Keep Planner sessions, plan titles, exercise progress, and duration totals consistent across Home, My Planner, and Diary
  • Generate AI Run/Walk plans based on your fitness level and goals
  • Display tracked routes, distance, pace, and GPS maps
  • Show step history and daily activity trends
  • Display HR, HRV, blood pressure, and glucose trends and health zone insights
  • Track fasting windows and sobriety streaks
  • Store and display transformation photos and body measurements
  • Power community posts, challenges, and group activity
  • Retain Coach memories and preferences you choose to save
  • Manage Smart Pantry items and shopping lists
  • Process subscriptions and entitlements via RevenueCat
  • Improve the App's features and performance
  • Send reminders and notifications (if enabled)

4Third-Party AI Data Sharing

To provide AI-powered features, Nutrify AI shares certain user data with third-party AI service providers. This is necessary to deliver core features such as food photo recognition, nutritional analysis, meal planning, AI coaching, and voice transcription.

Data shared with AI providers may include:

  • Food, product, and Coach photos you submit for analysis
  • Meal descriptions and food log entries
  • Health goals and dietary preferences you have set
  • Questions, prompts, and messages you submit to the AI Coach
  • Voice recordings and transcripts when you use Coach voice mode or voice transcription
  • Planner sessions, check-ins, and activity context needed to generate responses
  • Approximate location, distance, and pace (for AI Run/Walk plan generation)
  • Self-reported heart rate, HRV, blood pressure, and glucose values (when AI health insights are requested)

How AI requests are routed:

AI features are built on the Rork Toolkit and may be routed through optional gateway infrastructure before reaching upstream AI providers. The specific upstream providers and models may change over time as we update or replace services. Where a provider is named in-app or in other documentation, that name reflects the current routing and may change.

Current third-party AI services may include:

  • Large language model and multimodal providers (such as OpenAI) for natural language processing, food and photo analysis, meal planning, coaching, and transcription features

This data is transmitted securely and is used to generate responses to your requests. We seek contractual terms requiring our AI providers not to use your data for their own training or marketing; however, each provider's retention practices are governed by its own terms and policies, and we cannot guarantee that data is never retained by a provider after processing. You will be asked for explicit consent before data is shared with AI services.

5Photo Handling & Storage

Photos are handled differently depending on the feature you use:

Photos sent for AI analysis:

  • Meal Scan, Product Checker, Pantry Scan, and Coach photos are sent to AI providers for analysis as described in the AI section
  • These photos may be processed by third-party AI services subject to their own retention practices

Photos stored privately in your account:

  • Transformation photos are stored privately in your secure cloud account, not only on your device
  • These photos are not shared with AI providers unless you separately trigger an AI feature that uses them
  • You can delete transformation photos at any time

6Subscriptions & Entitlements

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements across platforms and devices.

  • RevenueCat receives limited transaction identifiers and receipt data needed to verify and sync your entitlements
  • RevenueCat does not receive your full payment-card details — those are handled by Apple or Google
  • Entitlement and subscription status is used to enable Premium features and enforce usage limits

7Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored locally on your device and in secure cloud storage (Supabase). We implement industry-standard encryption and reasonable technical, organisational, and physical security measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Health and wellbeing data is treated as sensitive and protected with appropriate safeguards.

8Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties. Beyond the AI services described in Section 4, we may share data only in the following cases:

  • With your explicit consent
  • Anonymised, aggregated data for research purposes
  • When required by law or legal process
  • With service providers who assist in operating the App (under strict data processing agreements)

All third parties we share data with are required to provide the same or equivalent level of data protection as described in this Privacy Policy.

9Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Export your supported data at any time via in-app Settings (PDF or JSON) — this covers data stored in your account within the App, and may not include every record held on our servers or by our service providers
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data (see Data Retention for what deletion may exclude)
  • Withdraw consent for AI data sharing at any time

10Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

11Cookies and Similar Technologies

This section applies to the nutrify.info website. The Nutrify AI mobile app itself does not use cookies.

Our website uses Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google) for site analytics, and Microsoft Advertising UET (provided by Microsoft) to measure the performance of our ads and conversions. These tools only run after you have given consent via the cookie banner.

With your consent, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Advertising UET may set cookies or use local-storage identifiers on your device to collect anonymous usage data and attribute ad conversions. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by selecting "Cookie settings" in the website footer, which reopens the consent banner so you can accept or reject non-essential cookies again.

We also use strictly necessary storage that does not require consent, such as remembering your cookie consent choice and remembering whether you have dismissed our offer pop-up. This storage is essential for the website to function and cannot be turned off in our settings.

12Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems, typically within 30 days. Account deletion is irreversible and requires an active connection. Deletion may not include temporary backups, operational logs, transaction records, or content retained by other users (for example, community posts they have saved or shared). Data shared with third-party AI providers is subject to those providers' own retention practices, and we cannot guarantee it is deleted immediately or at all.

13International Transfers

If your data is transferred outside your country of residence, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data.

14Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App.
